My Testimony From Mercy to Faith (Part 3): When God Healed the Hopeless Case

When God Healed What Looked Completely Hopeless

When Survival Still Didn’t Feel Like Victory

Surviving the second surgery felt like a miracle on its own.

But recovery did not come the way I expected.

I was wheeled back to the patient’s ward for observation and medication, hoping this season of pain was finally over. I believed healing would now be simple.

I was wrong.

“Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.” Psalm 34:19

When the Wounds Refused to Heal

After some days, the surgeon came to remove my stitches.

What we saw shocked everyone.

Instead of healing, the wounds had opened again.
They were fresh.
My internal organs were visible.

The doctors had to allow it, but it stayed and got worse by the day.

The sight was traumatic.

That was the moment hope left me.

I had survived death twice, yet here I was, still broken, still bleeding, still asking God why.

“Why, O Lord, do You stand far off?” Psalm 10:1

I questioned everything.

A Wife Sent by God in My Darkest Hour

If there was one constant in that dark season, it was my wife.

From day one, she stood by me, praying, encouraging, caring, and loving me deeply. She stayed even when we were not yet married then.

She never left.

She became God’s hands and voice in my weakness.

“Two are better than one… if either of them falls, one can help the other up.” Ecclesiastes 4:9–10

God sent me an angel in human form.

Months of Pain: When the Situation Grew Worse

The doctors soon discovered the real problem.

I had a very strong infection attacking my organs.

My body could not fight back.

  • I was not allowed to eat because of the intestinal wounds was not healed and my bowel was not moving
  • I was not allowed to take any fluids in
  • I survived only on drips and injections

Days turned into weeks.
Weeks turned into months.

My stomach remained open.
There was no hope in sight.

They woke up one night and discovered I was cold, and no pulse was found in me. Immediately, they rushed to call the doctor’s attention, and they came and tried using a defibrillator to revive me. For over 45 minutes, I was still in a coma, but God heard my wife’s cry and brought me back to life.

The doctors advised that they take me to the ICU because it was so critical, but my wife stopped them because that would be even worse being as no family members or loved ones would be allowed to visit or attend to me

All the doctors and consultants went on urgent consultations and retreats, searching for solutions.

“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2

When Seizures Started and Hope Faded

The situation became worse.

  • I started having daily seizure episodes
  • Fluid gushed out of my body every day
  • I lost weight rapidly
  • I lost blood continuously

Many close to me gave up hope.

The idea of returning to the theatre to close my stomach looked almost impossible.

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart.” Psalm 73:26

But God had not finished.

Mercy Spoke Again: God Heard the Cry

Armies of people were praying.

Prayers of mercy rose from family, friends, and believers.

And God heard.

“I cried to the Lord, and He answered me.” Psalm 120:1

Against medical expectations, I was taken in again for another surgery.

This time, to close my stomach.

The surgery was successful.

Cases less severe than mine had ended in death.

But God kept me.

“What God cannot do does not exist.” Luke 1:37 (paraphrased)
